Join Us Friday & Saturday, September 19 and 20, 2008
The Sarnia Organ Donor's Awareness Group invites you to their 5th annual "Jazz In The Village". This year is lining up to be bigger and better than ever. The "little festival that grew" is all set to prove that it is a major force on the entertainment scene of Sarnia/Lambton. Not only is the event being held on two days, Friday evening September 19th and then Saturday, September 20th but this year will bring to the stage two great headliner bands - one Jazz and the other Blues. Last year, the festival relocated to a new location which proved to have great crowd appeal. Once again, the main stage will be located at McGibbon Park in the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre at the corner of George and College Streets. The new location provides an inviting green space with lots of parking in the area and space for local artisans and artists. Come and enjoy a fall festival full of scarecrows and corn stalks, crafts and artisans, hot food and cold drinks, all while the sounds of cool jazz music float over the open-air venue. Between bands, stroll around the park and take in the arts & crafts, visit one of the many food vendors for a bite to eat or, if you prefer, just sit back, relax, and enjoy a beautiful autumn day in our Beer Garden. Come and enjoy a glass of wine, a bite to eat ... and all that jazz!

IN THE NEWS
Press Release April 8, 2008
Sarnia, ON – April 8, 2008 – Thanks to the Ontario Job Creation Partnerships program, funded by Employment Ontario, Sarnia Organ Donor’s Awareness (SODA) has a marketing assistant to assist with the annual Jazz and Blues in the Village – a fund-raising/awareness event which takes place the third weekend of September.
This is exciting news for a small organization that is completely run by volunteers.
Our hope is that our new marketing assistant, Kylie Marsden, will assist our marketing team and help us reach two goals:
First, our goal is to expand our marketing efforts to reach the Sarnia-Lambton area, and to include other cities in both southwestern Ontario and in Michigan.
Secondly, our goal is to fill the park.
With Kylie’s enthusiasm and her new ideas to enhance our marketing strategies, we believe that we can take the festival in a new direction. That doesn’t mean everything will change – our festival is still located in the beautiful McGibbon Park; we will still offer great music at great value; and we still have over one hundred dedicated volunteers to pull this event off.
Keep your fingers crossed…sunny weather for September 19 and 20, 2008.
