WELCOME to Jazz & Blues In the Village, a charity fundraiser for the Sarnia Organ Donor's Awareness Group. Now in its' 7th year, our festival promises something for everyone - great music, a wonderful atmosphere, and plenty to eat and drink. Once again, we'll be located in beautiful McGibbon Park in the heart of the city. While you wander through the park, we encourage you to visit our food vendors, stop by our Wine Bar or for the more adventurous, try the world-famous New Orleans drink, the Hurricane. If souvenirs are your thing, don't forget to pick up your 2010 festival t-shirt or why not buy a string of Mardi Gras beads. And don't forget to bring some warm clothing as evenings in September can be cool. So mark September 17th and 18th on your calendar and -
come and enjoy a glass of wine, a bite to eat ... and all that jazz!Opening Ceremonies ... At the opening ceremonies for our 7th annual jazz & blues festival, the candle will be lit in honour of families who in the midst of the pain and anguish of losing a loved one consent to the donation of organs and/or tissue. Each year, a candle is lit and burns all day on the Saturday of the festival to remind everyone why we stage this event ... to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation and transplantation and to raise money to assist patients and their families with non-medical expenses. Lighting the candle this year will be Michelle Webber whose son Jamieson was tragically killed 2 years ago in a lacrosse accident. Michelle is a Sarnia native. Come and be inspired by her story and the story of Jamieson.
All proceeds from this event stay in the Sarnia/Lambton area and are used to assist transplant patients and their families and to assist in research and education on organ
donation and transplantation.TICKET COSTS
